Thanksgiving weekend

Fall is going by way too fast. As Jeremy is getting the Christmas lights out of the attic, I realized that I'm just not ready to say goodbye to our fall decor.

Made our 21c penguin look like a turkey. :)

Went a little crazy with the heirloom pumpkins again this year. I've baked two of them so far. Thinking of baking and freezing the rest.

Enjoy the final days of fall.

Turkey Trot

Well we did it! 5 miles in 23 degree weather. I was nice and toasty by mile 3.

Patty and I bundled up before the run. I think we are doing it again next year, in costumes. :)

Home by 10am and the turkey is in the oven.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Gobble gobble

5:52 am and I'm ready for the Turkey Trot. It is 23 degrees out. I'm so happy that it isn't 16. Home after the race to cook the turkey.
Starbucks doesn't open until 6:30am. So this is my running buddy this morning.

A hike and Paxton's

It snowed last night. :) made for a perfect hike this morning. We drove down to the Cincy nature center. The drive was calm and the frozen mist hung in the air.

There was a blanket of snow in the woods. I love how it seems to make the whole world quiet and new.

Afterwards, Paxton's for lunch and a beer.

Going to pick up the turkey now. Gobble gobble.

Holiday week

Jeremy and I are taking this week off. Going to enjoy a week at home, but that doesn't mean that it is going to be boring.
Our vacation started with a Champagne tasting dinner at the Winds on Friday. Great food, drink and conversation. We ran into a dare friend, Rosemary Fritz. Rosemary is the mother of one of our high school friends. It was a real treat to have dinner with her.

Saturday started off slow. Couple errands in the morning, lunch at Bonefish, then a 6.5 mile hike in Germantown.

This morning it was 16 degrees outside. Can't let that stop us. We both bundled up and headed out for some exercise. Jeremy went for a bike ride and I just finished a 5 mile run. I feel like I'm ready for the Turkey Trot on Thursday now! Bring it on!

Ring around the moon

Tomorrow never comes. Well if it does the moon tonight says that it may be rough. There’s an old weather saying: ring around the moon means rain soon.

It is a beautiful fall evening. 60 degrees and we sat on the deck after the concert with a glass of wine. The moon says that we may not be able to do that tomorrow. Perhaps tomorrow will never come. Either way we are enjoying tonight.
Here is to tomorrow.

My day today

Up at 7:30 am. Decided earlier this week that today would be the day that I would run 10 miles. So, up at 7:30 and out the door at 7:45am. I did it! The last 3 miles were hard, but I pushed thru.
Shower, and I was off to spend time with Suzie and Liam.
Home later, with just enough time to get ready for dinner at Coco's with Jer before our concert. Tonight was Sarah McLachlan.

It was amazing. My only regret is that she didn't sing Into the Fire.

Other than that it was an amazing day. And 2013 is the year that I ran 10 miles!

Garlic dinner 2013

The Garlic Dinner is a long standing tradition for Jeremy and I. We have been attending for the better part of 15 years. Longer than most celebrity couples are married. :)
Tonight was no disappointment. Although the service did start out slow, the food was amazing.

Who else had their flu shot served with wine? That is what we call the garlic dinner, our flu shot. :)

The main course.

Left overs from our soup course.

Happy fall.

Sunday morning in Columbus

Sunday morning we took our time getting up. I ran a couple miles as Jer took advantage of having no kitty bother him while he drank his coffee and searched the web.

We had enough time to walk to breakfast. I highly recommend Demsey's. Food was great and the environment was warm and cozy, perfect for a cold windy morning.

We walked a bit after breakfast. I love Sunday mornings in cities. Most people are still at home and the streets are quiet.
Here are a few photos from our walk.

Jer being funny!

We found a larger than life size garden sculpture of Seurat's Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte, Saturday night. I knew what it was even in the dark. We went back in the morning.

It was a wonderful fall weekend!

Another concert, another city

Jeremy and I went to a concert tonight! We went to see Lucy Wainwright Roche open for Dar Williams. Lucy was great! First time I have ever seen an opening act get give an encore. :)

We are now fans of Dar as well :)

Ate at Sidebar, much like the old Sidebar in Dayton but much much better. Jer's dish won. Lamb, yum!

We are ready for a good nights sleep.

Happy dreams.

Latte in the woods

Jeremy and I hike four miles to eat at Clifton Mill, then turned around and hiked back. 8 miles so far today, not too bad.
Had to have my coffee to get the whole thing started. :)
