Happy New Year!

So long to 2011, hello to 2012.
Starting a new New Year's eve tradition, hot bubble bath. Seems like just the thing to do to wash away the old year. Candles, bath salts, and a glass of wine.

Setting our goals for 2012, I look back at all that we accomplished in 2011.

Cheers!

Have a glowing New Year.

The tree is up, the lights are hung, the fires are burning - it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

Happy Birthday to me!

Another year, another birthday. I am so happy to be one year older.
Started my morning having coffee and presents with Jer, then my regular Saturday morning chat with mom, lots of birthday wishes from friends and family, a four miles trail run with my thoughts, a bubble bath with a glass of wine, dinner and drinks with the man I love.
Yes, Virginia, life is wonderful and can be all that you want, just set your sites on where you want to go.
I love you all thank you for being on my life.

Happy Thanksgiving

Started the morning out cooking in the kitchen with Jer. Once the turkey was in the oven, I headed out for my own version of the Turkey Trot.

Had a great run. I am so happy that it is the end of November and I am still running. I am hoping to run all winter long!

During my run I couldn't help be think of all the things that I'm thankful for this year. I think that it boils down to being so very thankful to know love and to have so much of it in my life. Family, friends, the kitties and my Jer.
Love you all.
Happy thanksgiving.

MERRY morning

Well, I accepted my Starbucks MERRY proposal. Together we made my early morning a much happier experience. ;)

My Starbucks

4:30am in the LA airport and my Starbucks has proposed to me. I was so surprised. We have been seeing each other on and off again for years. We went our separate ways last year. This year we are getting to know each other again.

At this hour in the morning I am tempted to say yes. It is the one thing I need most, and I don't want anything to come between us. Well, at least not until I have drained it of all it has to offer. Does that make me a gold digger? Or a caffeine digger?

Jer, don't worry my fling with the tall dark latte will be over before I get home today. I'm all yours. ;)

Warner Brothers Studio

Having a great time visiting the WB studio. A little business mixed in with soooo much fun.

Scott and I on the old Friends set.

On the Big Bang set after the taping. (then we had beer and pizza with the cast back stage)

In Sheldon's chair.

In their frig.

knock, knock, knock, Penny

One of the best days ever. Started with a four mile run, great latte in the lobby, yoga in my room, breakfast at the roof top restaurant overlooking the city.

Trend shopping.

Great studio tour, even better business meeting, then the taping of one of my favorite shows. OMG how much more could you want.
Oh, I have to get up at 3:00 am to get on a plane tomorrow, so it isn't all roses. I wouldn't change it though. :)

This morning

The moon was full and huge this morning. It was so pretty driving into work with the moon guiding my way. At one point the moon was ahead of me and the rising sun was in my rearview mirror.
In a single gaze I could see them both.
It was like saying farewell to a friend that had guided me through the dark, and being tapped on the shoulder by the energetic paretner that is going to brighten my day.

The photo totally does not do it justice.

Bowling last night

OMG, I bowled a 251 game last night, without my handicap. Not bad for someone that had a handicap of 96 last year.

Garlic Dinner

Tonight was the annual Garlic dinner at the Winds. The food was great and the wine made it all better. Let you know what my stomach thinks of all the garlic in the morning.

Oh, did I mention that tonight is a full moon? Hard to see, but it is the dot in the sky.

5 degrees

Ran this morning, it was 55 degrees, 5 degrees warmer than yesterday.. All the difference in the world. 5 little degrees, can be the difference between a regular body temp and a fever that can kill you, or a left turn into your lane or on coming traffic. It's these small measurements that can make all the difference.

It was warm enough that when the rain started to fall, I could imagine that they were butterfly kisses, not cold damp beads falling from the sky.

Happy running.

Westcott House

Jer and I headed to Springfield today to take a tour of a Frank Lloyd Wright house, the Westcott. It was beautiful. It cost 5.3 million to restore, I think it was worth it.

Mammoth Cave and today

Yesterday Jeremy and I spent the day at Mammoth Cave national park. Don't have any pics on my phone so I will post those once I download them at home. It was awesome! If you have not been there, you should. 300+ feet underground, rooms and passages that match the vastness of some of our greatest architecture. The capabilities of nature never ceases to amaze me. Although some of the passages we took on our second tour would kick in anyones claustrophobia. It is worth the trip.
Today, we went to the Speed Art Museum. Then the Water Tower Art Museum. This is the stairwell at the water tower.

Then we headed home. But wait, is that a sign on the highway for a winery? Yep, Smith and Berry. Had to go. :) The wine was great, really giving California a run for their money. This is a pic of their wine garden.

What's that, only 14 miles to Elk Creek winery. Why not, no place else we have to be today. (Kitty disagrees, she is at home wondering where the hell her kitty food is, only 2 days late).
Wine at Elk Creek, also good. Must be something in the Kentucky soil, why are we living in Ohio?
So, what is up with the black barns? I know that they use them for drying tobacco, but everyone in KY can't be growing tobaccy?

Well, our Kentucky vacation is now one of our favs. Great hotel, great food, mammoth caves, wonderful art, beautiful fall color and country views, and good wine. What else do you need?
Happy fall everyone.

First day in Louisville

First, if you stay in Louisville make sure to stay at 21c Musuem Hotel. It is so worth the money, where can you stay in a modern art museum?

Today, we went to a glass works studio and watched to artist make a hand blown pumpkin.

Then we went to a local winery and had sone dinner. This is an image of graffiti on the glass to the bottling room.

Walking downtown we saw a few odd sites.

Sunset on the river.

Back to our hotel.

Cauldron art out front. Jer and I are in the window.

Interactive art in the main lobby. Have a video to post later.

Borbon tasting at the bar.

Oh, and red penguins everywhere!
